Event information

Late registrations for this event are closed.

The MTA NSW State Championships are a tournament style event. All bouts are in accordance with IFMA rules.

The event is the first of it’s kind for NSW Muaythai. It is a fantastic opportunity to compete with people from all over NSW and compete for who is the state Muaythai champion. It is a great experience. Many competitors get more than one bout and vastly increase their competition experience by attending.

The event is open to Juniors from 14 -17 years. Adults from 18 - 40 years. All bouts are matched after the first weigh in. You are then required to weigh in on each day you are competing. If you fail to make weight, at any time, you are disqualified. ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE REGISTERED AND CLEARED WITH THE COMBAT SPORTS AUTHORITY OF NSW.

Registration is for the competition only. All other administration and logistics is at your own expense.

The tournament is for all MTA NSW competitors. You will be matched with anyone in your division regardless of experience. All bouts are strictly controlled and safety is paramount. This is not a novice competition however the experience can vary considerable between divisions and ages. Please consider carefully your entry and discuss your competitiveness with your trainer. Registration includes fight records so we will know when people are registered what experience level they have.

THIS IS A B-CLASS TOURNAMENT. A-Class (Elite) men/women should nominate themselves to the MTA (state representatives) if they want to compete A-Class at the World Championships. Elite Athletes - Are defined as registered professionals who are experienced and highly ranked in Australia who would be competitive at A-Class at the world championships. There is no min-max fight record for being defined as an ELITE male, as a guide, 25 fights or more would be considered ELITE.
